Wine Tasting---Brambly Park Riesling

 Name: Brambly Park Riesling

Variety: Riesling

Region:  Oregon

Country: United States

Year: 2021

Price: $18.00

Winery Review: "Sweeter at first but a longer finish. Definitely taste sweet apple, pear and peach but it is an easy drinker." (August 2020)

Wine Folly: "This aromatic wine offers primary fruit aromas of orchard fruits like nectarine, apricot, honey-crisp apple, and pear. Besides fruit, you’ll often smell things like honeycomb, jasmine, or lime peel, along with a striking aroma that smells similar to petrol or petroleum wax On the palate, Riesling has high acidity, similar to the levels in lemonade"

My Review: I really enjoyed drinking this wine. It was light and refreshing with notes of lychee and orange. I drank this at Brambly Park Winery in Richmond with my boyfriend. We both really enjoyed it. I would recommend this wine. I drank this as is with nothing.

Wine Tasting---Oliver Cherry Moscato

 Name: Oliver Cherry Moscato

Variety: Muscat Canelli and Muscat Alexander

Region:  California

Country: United States

Year: 2021

Price: $12.00

Winery Review: "Pale salmon color. Aromas and flavors of apricot nectar, honeysuckle, and ripe pear with a soft, lively, moderately sweet light-to-medium body and a silky, brief finish with notes of strawberry italian ice and fresh lime with fruit tannins and no oak flavor. A fruity, buoyant sipper for those who enjoy the sweeter things." (October 2020)

Wine Folly: "Wines have perfumed aromas of mandarin orange, ripe pear, sweet meyer lemon, orange blossom, and honeysuckle. The wine’s unique floral aroma is from an aromatic compound called linalool which is also found in mint, citrus flowers, and cinnamon."

My Review: This wine was overall good and a lot of the reviews highly recommended it but I do not think I would buy this again. The flavor was more sour than sweet and I could not taste any cherry.  It felt smooth going down and left a dry semi-sweet taste in my mouth.

Wine Tasting-- Yosemite Road Moscato

Name: Yosemite Road Moscato

Variety: Muscat grapes

Region:  La Marca Trevigiana

Country: California

Year: 2021

Price: $5.00

Winery Review: "It's exactly as the label described, peach infused, refreshing, light, crisp, very tasty...must have if chilled! Didn't give it 5 stars because a good wine should taste just as great warm." (August 2018)

My Review: Most of the reviews didn't like this wine but I really enjoyed it. The price was great, and I enjoyed the sweet taste. It was super sweet and tasted similar to strawberries and peaches. It felt smooth going down and left a thick sweet taste in my mouth.   I would drink this again. I drank this with nothing.

Wine Tasting- Lamarca Prosecco

  Name: LaMarca Prosecco Sparkling Wine

Variety: Glera grapes

Region:  La Marca Trevigiana

Country: Italy

Year: 2020

Price: $17.00

Winery Review: "A toasty, crisp, fresh Italian sparkling wine that's both robust and mouth-filling. Aromas of freshly baked bread and green apple. This is a consistently great product of Italian bubbly with a Prosecco that's styled to enjoy on its own or with seafood."

Wine Folly: "Due to the grapes’ fruity flavors of green apple, honeydew melon, pear, and honeysuckle, it usually seems sweeter than it is. Even though brut is the most popular sweetness level of Prosecco sold in the market today, you can find styles that are sweeter if you seek them out."

My Review: I really enjoyed this wine, it was sweet but not over the top. I normally don't like dry but the bubbles made it fun to drink and I appreciated the dry flavor. It felt like I was drinking a carbonated soda. It was very crisp and fruity like apples.  I would drink this again. I drank this with steak and Brussel sprouts for a dinner date!

Wine Tasting- Barboursville Vineyards "Cabernet Sauvignon"

Name: Barboursville Vineyards

Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon

Region: Charlottesville

Country: Virginia

Year: 2020

Price: $15

Winery Review: "Silky, not too heavy, balanced tannins, a real pleasure to drink. 3.5Very drinkable. Fruit forward. Low tannin and acid." (April 2020)

Wine Folly: The rich flavor and high tannin content in Cabernet Sauvignon make it a perfect partner to rich grilled meats, peppery sauces, and dishes with high flavor.

My Review: I really enjoyed this wine, it was dry and rich but not over the top. I tasted the dark sweet blackberry taste as well as some smoky tobacco flavors. It felt velvety going down and left a dry taste in my mouth afterwards. I would drink this with a steak dinner but not on its own. I drank this with my family and we had steak, potatoes, and Brussel sprouts with it.
